How to create free ringtones for iPhone

Unlike Android cellphone, iPhone does not allow you to use songs in music library as ringtone directly. In this tutorial, I will demonstrate how to make a ringtone on your iPhone using songs from your music library.

To make ringtones for your iPhone, you need to install the Free Ringtone Maker App on your iPhone. The app is for all iOS device, iPhone, iPad and iPod.

Ringtone Maker App is a Free app for iPad, iPhone and iPod, which allows you to create unlimited custom ringtones, text tones, and alerts using songs from your music library. It is very easy to use. Add a song from your music library, swipe the audio wave to select a short clip, then save your music as ringtone. Besides using music from Music Library to create a ringtone, you can also load music from computers, your Dropbox account or record your own voice.

After creating a ringtone, you can transfer it to computer, upload to Dropbox or email as an attachment. Off course, you can use it as your iPhone ringtone.

Launch  Ringtone Maker App(App link) on your iPhone and add a song,  you can swipe the audio wave to select a short clip as a ringtone.

Also you can record songs or download music from Dropbox and save the music as ringtone. After importing music, you can tap the Save icon to save it as a .m4r file.

After creating a ringtone is finished, a window will pop up. Then you can set  it as your iPhone ringtone through iTunes, transfer it to PC via iTunes File Sharing, email to friends, or upload to Dropbox.

You can find the created Ringtones by tapping Ringtones’ Manager.

Sync a .m4r file to your iPhone Tones list with iTunes

You can not use the .m4r file as your iPhone ringtone directly and have them appear in the tones list. Instead, you have to save those .m4r files to your computer and sync with iTunes to get those tones working on your iPhone.

1. Plug your iPhone into PC with data cable(You can also connect iPhone to PC over WiFi). Click your iPhone name under DEVICEs in left sidebar. Select “Apps“ button, scroll down to “File Sharing“ section.
2. Select “Ringtones” from App list, you can see the “Ringtone” folder in right panel. Click “Save to…” button to export the Ringtone folder to PC(such as desktop).

3. Add the “Ringtone” folder to “Tones” in iTunes Library list. You can drag the whole folder into Tones area, or drag certain ringtones. Note: If the Tones option does not appear in Library list, please click “View->Preference->General Preference”, and check “Tones” under “General”.

4. Click your iPhone name, and then click “Summary” tab, scroll down to “Options” section. Check “Manually manage music and videos” and apply the setting.

5. Drag music from iTunes Tones LIBRARY to your iPhone’s Tones library.

Then how to find the ringtones you synced from iTunes and use it as your iPhone ringtone?

Tap the “Settings” icon from your iPhone screen, select “Sounds” from Settings list, then select “Ringtone” option from “Sounds and Vibration Patterns” list. Now you can see all the available ringtones on your iPhone, including built-in ringtones and synced ringtones.

How to delete photos from your iPad

There are some pictures you want to remove from your iPad. Some images has a trash can you can use, but others do not have. And how to delete multiple photos from an iPad? In this article, I will introduce different ways to delete pictures from iPad.

iPad’s photo app can both store photos from PC with iTunes and photos saved from from e-mail, or photos taken with iPad’s camera. You can delete photos taken with the iPad camera and saved from email and text messages on iPad easily. However, photos synced from PC must be removed through iTunes as well.

1. Delete photos on iPad directly without iTunes

Photos taken with iPad’s camera or saved from email can be removed from iPad directly. You can delete these photos one by on or delete multiple photos at the same time.

Delete one photo at a time on iPad:

  • Launch the Photos app on your iPad, open the album and find the photo you want to delete. Also you can tap the Photos tab which contains all photos on iPad to find the photo.
  • Tap the photo you want to delete to open it.
  • When the photo is displayed in full screen, tap the Trash can in upper right corner.
  • Then tap Delete Photo button to delete current photo.

  • Open an album which contains photos you want to delete.
  • Tap the Edit  button in upper right corner.
  • Tap photos to select them.
  • Tap the Remove button to delete selected multiple photos.

2. Delete synced photos on iPad through iTunes

To delete photos that you transferred from PC to your iPad Photos app using iTunes, you have to connect iPad to your computer and use the sync process to delete previously synced photos.

  • Connect iPad to PC using data cable or via WiFi.
  • Open the synced album on your computer and delete the photos you want to remove from your iPad. Or you can move photos out of the album.
  • Launch iTunes on your PC. Your iPad will appear in the left sidebar under DEVICEs.
  • Click your iPad name and select Photos tab on the top in iTunes management screen, then select the edited folder from Sync Photos from drop-down list.
  • Select the “Selected albums, Events and Faces, and automatically include” option and place a check mark next to the photo albums you want to sync with your iPad. Select the album from which you removed the individual photos.
  • Click the Apply button to remove the synced photos from your iPad.

3 Steps to extract photos from a video

How to make a slideshow on Flickr

As one of the best online photo management and sharing service, Flickr also enables users to view their photos as a slideshow . Flickr slideshows are easy to create and convenient for sharing, either through a URL or an embedding code.

To create a slideshow on Flickr, you should have a Yahoo ID, then you can sign into Flickr with your Yahoo ID.

1. Go to Flickr homepage and sign into your Flickr account with Yahoo ID and password.

2. Click Upload button to upload photos to Flickr Photostream from your computer.

3. If you just want to create a slideshow with parts of your photos, you need to create a Set to put these photos together. Click You-> Organize->Sets->Create a new set, then drag photos from the bottom list to the set area.  Then type title and description for the new set.

4. Open a set , and click Slideshow button(highlighted), then your photos will be displayed as a slideshow. A Flickr Slideshow is finished.

Note: If you want to view all your photos on Flickr in slideshow, click You->Your photostream , then click Slideshow button to watch your photos in slideshow.

Share a Flickr slideshow

You can share a slideshow through a URL or embedding code. Click the Share option in the upper right corner of the slideshow showing window. Then  Share this slideshow window will appear, with URL and Embed HTML for the slideshow.

To share the Flickr slideshow with friends, you can mail the URL to your friends or post it to Facebook.

If you want to insert the Flickr slideshow into your website or blog, copy the HTML code and paste it to where you want to put the slideshow.

How to delete a photo album from iPad

Are you confused about how to delete an album from your iPad? To delete an album off iPad, you may consider where the album comes from first. If the albums were created on your iPad you can delete them on the iPad easily. However, if the albums were synched from your computer you can’t delete them on the iPad. You will have to sync with iTunes on your computer to delete the albums.

Case 1. Delete an album that was created on iPad

Go to the Photos App on the iPad. At the top of the screen there should be three options (Photos, Album, Places). If you have opened the Photo Stream, there will be one more Photo Stream option.Tap Albums, then tap Edit (right upper corner), then tap on the X that appears on the corner of the album you want to delete.

After tapping X, a dialog window will pop up, asking if you are sure to delete the Album, select Delete. Then the album will be deleted  the iPad.

Case 2. Delete previously synced albums from iPad

Simply plug your iPad into your computer and click iPad name under DEVICES on the left sidebar in iTunes. Proceed to the Photos tab and there you will be able to remove them.

  • Open iTunes on your PC and plug iPad into your PC
  • Click your iPad name under Devices on the left sidebar.
  • Click the Photos tab on the top in iTunes management screen. Select the folder that contains your photos from the drop-down menu next to “Sync Photos From” at the top .
  • Check the Selected albums, Events and Faces, and automatically include option and place a check mark next to the album you want to sync with your iPad, and unselect the album you want to delete from iPad.
  • Click Sync in the lower right corner of the iTunes window to sync your iPad. When the sync is complete, the photo album associated with that folder is no longer on the iPad.
